The School of Law congratulates Ryan Murphy who has been awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy.  Ryan's research, which was supervised by Professor Panos Koutrakos (Law) & Dr Philip Syrpis (Law), examined judicial interpretation of the exceptions to the full free movement of capital in the European Union, focusing primarily on the constitutional mechanisms employed by the European Court of Justice in assessing whether Member State derogations from capital freedom are justifiable in the context of the internal market project.

His examiners were Professor Charlotte Villiers (Bristol) and Professor Takis Tridimas (Queen Mary University of London).
