Professor Dave Cowan has been conferred the award of Academician of the Academy of Social Sciences for his contribution to the social sciences. Dave has conducted socio-legal research into housing and administrative justice issues for the last 17 years at Bristol.  He has conducted research funded by most of the major funding bodies, and is the author of major works in the field, including, most recently, Housing Law and Policy (Cambridge, 2011).  Dave was nominated for this award by the Socio-Legal Studies Association, for which he was Vice Chair over two periods and an executive committee member.
