On Wednesday 18 January, the Innocence Network UK (INUK) will host a talk by former Bristol Chemistry student, Joel Hicks, who will talk about his experiences of being a victim of a false allegation of abuse against a pupil at a school at which he was working.

Joel will talk of the stresses and stigma that he and his family suffered when he lost his teaching career and how he re-trained as a Barrister, being called to the Bar in 2009.

He will also share how this false allegation has affected his life, his ability to have a family, and how it has led to his current profession as a successful male model.

He will give an insight into his extraordinary and unique philosophy that has enabled him not only to survive a false allegation that many are unable to recover from, but turn it into a positive opportunity to help others.
