The School of Law is very pleased to welcome Dr. Ruth Janal as an academic visitor for the autumn term 2010.  Ruth is an assistant professor with the Law Department at Freie Universität Berlin, where she teaches Comparative Law, Conflict of Laws, European Consumer Law and Contracts. Her current research project concerns the private enforcement of industrial property within the European Union, with particular focus on the English and German civil procedure.
Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights in Dutch, English and German Civil Procedure

Her other main research interests concern European Consumer Law and Information Technology Law. Two of her monographs have been published in English: Civil Procedure Used for Enforcement of EC Competition Law (with G Cumming and B Spitz, Kluwer, 2007) and Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights in Dutch, English and German Civil Procedure (with G Cumming and M Freudenthal, Kluwer, 2008).
