Jean Monnet Workshop:  The legislature, the judiciary and the completion of the internal market

Antwerp, 8-9 March 2010

The Universities of Bristol and Antwerp are bringing together a range of experts in European law from various Member States in order to explore the relationship between Treaty interpretation by the Court and the interventions of the political institutions.

The aim of the workshop is to provide a public law perspective of the relationship covering both horizontal themes (such as the principle of proportionality and the ultimate aims of the internal market project) and specific sectors (citizenship, labour law and social security, consumer protection law and the free movement of capital).

Workshop Flyer and Programme

The workshop is funded by the Jean Monnet Chair in European Law at the University of Bristol, School of Law, and the University of Antwerp Faculty of Law and Centre of Law and Cosmopolitan Values.
