About the Associate Principal Investigator (PI) Scheme:
The Associate PI Scheme provides a unique six-month, in-work training opportunity for healthcare professionals embarking on their research careers. It offers practical experience in clinical research and allows individuals who would not typically engage in such research to work on and deliver an NIHR portfolio trial under the mentorship of a dedicated Local Principal Investigator (PI).
Participants in the scheme receive formal recognition of their engagement in NIHR Portfolio research studies through the certification of Associate PI status, endorsed by the NIHR and Royal Colleges.
