Research training and development funding pathways for Health and Care Professionals

20 October 2022, 4.30 PM - 20 October 2022, 5.30 PM

online

Clinical Research Start-up Seminars (CReSS) are for anyone in UHBW, the University of Bristol or the University of the West of England, Bristol, who is undertaking a new study, preparing a grant application, or wanting to know how to get started in research. The group provides guidance and peer-support for new and first-time researchers. Members of other NHS organisations in Bristol are welcome if places are available.

This session will provide an introduction to research and training funding, and in particular, the NIHR HEE Integrated Clinical and Practitioner Academic (ICA) programme for health and care professionals (other than medics and dentists). The session will provide insight from the personal experiences of an NIHR-HEE doctoral fellow and opportunity to discuss individual interests. The ICA programme is intended to develop people with the potential and aspiration to become leading practitioners and researchers, thus increasing research capacity to improve health and social care. Join us if you are interested and would like to find out more.

Speakers:

  • Mary Cramp, UWE. Lead for Research in the School of Health and Social Wellbeing which includes nurses, midwifes, a number of AHP professions and Public Health; also works with the NIHR ARC West training and capacity building team as the NMAHP professions Lead and with HEE South West for delivery of the regional ICA awards.
