Dr Mary Bateman wins Arthurian Studies Prize

Dr Mary Bateman has won the 2024 Dhira B. Mahoney Prize for Outstanding Scholarly Book in Arthurian Studies.

The International Arthurian Society has awarded the 2024 Dhira B. Mahoney Prize for Outstanding Scholarly Book in Arthurian Studies to Bristol's Dr Mary Bateman, for her book Local Place And The Arthurian Tradition In England And Wales, 1400-1700 (Boydell & Brewer 2023). The judging panel praised Dr Bateman's archival work and noted its value for teaching Arthurian literature in future curriculums. Full details on the Prize will be published in a forthcoming issue of the Arthuriana journal.
