English staff lead newly announced Faculty of Arts Research Centres

University of Bristol funding announced for next five years of interdisciplinary research

The University of Bristol Faculty of Arts Research Centres from 2022 to 2027 will include the Centre for Black Humanities, co-directed by Professor Madhu Krishnan, the Centre for Medieval Studies, co-directed by Professor Ad Putter, and the Centre for Health, Humanities and Science, directed by Professor Ulrika Maude.

More English staff will be involved with all of these as well as the remaining Faculty Research Centres: the new Centre for Creative Technologies and Centre for Environmental Humanities.  

Smaller scale interdisciplinary Faculty Research Groups have also been announced, which will run from 2022 to 2024.  Dr Sebastiaan Verweij will be one of the co-ordinators of the Early Modern Studies group.  Other English staff are also involved in the rest of the groups, which are as follows:

  • Bristol-Exeter Modern British History
  • Drinking Studies
  • Screen Research
  • Senses and Sensations
