On Friday 7 September, The Guardian released its annual University Guide for 2025, revealing that the University of Bristol had moved up one position, into 16th place, from last year.
Overall, 36 subjects taught at Bristol were found to be in the top 25 in their fields in the country.
This included the University ranking second in the UK for its Aerospace Engineering, Zoology, Animal Science and Agriculture undergraduate courses.
However, the University also ranked top in the country for its four undergraduate Education courses:
- BSc Education Studies
- BSc Psychology in Education
- BSC Education Studies with Study Abroad
- BSc Psychology in Education with Study Abroad
The University was also ranked first for its undergraduate Education courses in the Guardian University Guide 2024, meaning it has topped the rankings for a second year running.
The University only began running its undergraduate Education courses at the start of the 2017/2018 academic year, making this achievement all the more impressive.
Each year, around 100 students graduate from the University’s undergraduate Education courses, with many going on to pursue careers in fields such as education policy, academia, teaching (via undertaking a PGCE) and more.
