About the event

Speaker: John Jerrim (Professor of Education and Social Statistics, University College London)

Engagement is a key issue in schools, not only amongst pupils, but employees as well. Over the last two years, we have been creating new measures of school engagement amongst pupils and school staff.

In this talk, John will discuss his on-going work in this area, with a focus on school employee engagement. He will discuss the work he has collaborated on in developing this measure, investigating its psychometric properties and how it has subsequently been used in empirical research.

The talk will conclude with a discussion of future plans for measuring engagement within England's schools, and the potential of the data for secondary research.
