The biggest barriers for teachers to engaging in research are the perception of relevance, lack of accessibility, and more importantly, time. Since introduction of the initial teacher training Core Content Framework (CCF) educators need to have an awareness of the research underpinning it.

In this talk, Helen Aberdeen, the Director of the School’s Education and Policy Research Service (EPRS), will discuss how the service can build a bridge between theory and practice, not only for the CCF but in the wider education landscape. In this presentation, Helen will explain how the service, and particularly the new toolkits within it can help educators in a time-saving and effective way. She will also describe a recent pilot project with Professional Tutors from PGCE partnership schools which was based on one of these toolkits.‌
