The ECEF scheme supports early career researchers to gain the skills necessary to make progress in commercialising University intellectual property. It provides each participant with a comprehensive training programme, dedicated support of a commercialisation manager and £2,000 funding to enable the ECEF to effectively buyout their time and devote dedicated time to the scheme.
James Uzzell, 2020 CoSEM CDT cohort, has developed a concept for a new dynamic induction coil for energy efficient composite manufacturing, and will develop a prototype to gain industry validation and produce a case from patenting.
James Griffith, 2021 CoSEM CDT cohort, aims to develop a new high-quality demonstrator panel to take forward for testing with a view to commercialisation.
