Lizzie Gourd
Bristol Classics Hub Coordinator
Lizzie is a PhD student in English and Classics who has a background in Classics (BA, MPhil) and has participated in a number of Classics outreach initiatives in the past. While studying for her undergraduate degree at the University of Nottingham, she volunteered to help introduce beginners’ Greek and Latin at a local primary school, and taught extracurricular GCSE Latin to a small group in Buckingham while completing her MPhil at the University of Oxford.
Since joining the University of Bristol, Lizzie has been actively involved with the Hub and was appointed Classics Hub Coordinator in 2019-20. She is delighted to continue to hold this position and to be responsible for coordinating our growing number of Hub activities in Bristol and across the South West.
