Since the inaugural event in 1990, the symposium has hosted 134 lectures by over 121 different distinguished scientists from all over the world. Among these speakers are an impressive total of 14 Nobel laureates.
The objective of the event is to provide an experience and opportunity for Scripps Research's graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, faculty, and neighbouring scientists to hear from and meet some of the best scientists in the world.
