Senate House, Indoor Sports Centre closed until further notice. ASSL remains open

23 March 2020

We appreciate that this is a worrying and difficult time and recognise many of you are understandably anxious, given the unprecedented circumstances the world faces with the current coronavirus pandemic. Your health, welfare and safety of staff and students is the top priority for University leaders following the outbreak.

Following government advice, we have closed the following buildings:

  • Senate House has closed, until further notice. This includes the PGR Hub and the SU Living Room, as well as study spaces in that building.
  • All libraries except the Arts and Social Sciences Library (ASSL) have closed; ASSL is being reconfigured for physical distancing so that our users have safer study options.
  • The Sports Centre is closed and memberships have been frozen. Online exercise classes are available – see the Sports Centre webpage – and you can also visit the NHS exercise webpage.
