Work Futures Annual Lecture 2024

21 May 2024, 5.30 PM - 21 May 2024, 7.00 PM

Dr Nick Srnicek (King's College London)

Lady Hale Moot Court, 8-10 Berkeley Square, Bristol, BS8 1HH

The Business School's 'Work Futures' research group will be hosting an annual lecture this year on the topic:

The Value of Generative AI

It is common today to ask questions about the value of generative AI. There are numerous debates about the economic impact of this new technology, with consultancy groups clambering to sell optimistic forecasts, and board rooms busy discussing the worth of these possible investments. In this talk, I want to ask a slightly different question – not what is the value of generative AI, but rather where is the value of generative AI? This is ultimately a question about power – about who is capturing the economic value of artificial intelligence and about what this might mean for our economies and even the international system.

You can read more about this year's speaker, Dr Nick Srnicek, on the King's College London website.

This event is open to external attendees as well as Business School staff and does not require registration. If you have any questions, please contact business-school-research@bristol.ac.uk
