Supply Chain Collaboration in Emerging Markets: A Force Field Theory Perspective

Abstract: Most studies agree that supply chain collaboration enables high performance from the perspective of both the focal firm and the entire SC due to resource capitalisation and an emphasis on leveraging capabilities between firms (Fawcett et al., 2012). However, supply chain collaboration in emerging markets is not always straightforward due to a variety of issues such as political instability, infrastructure challenges, regulatory systems, and a lack of transparency. This talk will discuss this important issue, revealing the restraining and driving forces that impact supply chain collaboration in the context of Nigeria, based on the findings of a qualitative study.
