Education: Innovative approaches for biological sciences research

Innovating Education

We study how teaching approaches can be improved, and how to measure learning outcomes.

The School of Biological Sciences undertakes novel research into effective teaching methods across educational environments, and promotes science across broader society.

Our academics are actively involved in grant funded pedagogic research. We work on University-level initiatives researching Transition, Assessment & Feedback, and Project Evaluation.

We are engaged with cross-faculty and international research that explores and enhances assessment practices.

The School has a strong record of working effectively with students as ‘co-researchers/developers’ and is establishing a research profile in sustainable education with the aim of becoming leaders in this field.
