New Defra contract to consider the potential impact of anthropogenic noise

Andy Radford and Gareth Jones from the School of Biological Sciences have been awarded £30,000 from Defra to conduct a scoping study, investigating the potential impact of anthropogenic noise on non-marine UK species in general and those listed as Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) priority species in particular. The work will involve reviewing the existing literature, assessing the strength of evidence, identifying patterns in the data and the most important gaps in knowledge, and providing informed suggestions for future research. Erica Morley, who has recently completed her PhD with Daniel Robert, will be employed on the project to collate the evidence.
