The network also provides a forum where staff can share their experiences and ideas. Past socials incude afternoon tea, games night, picnics, pantomime, LGBT+ History Month walks, bowling and many more! Photos can be found here.

Women in STEM

The School of Biological Sciences is committed to the advancement and promotion of women in the biological sciences. We recognise the importance of encouraging and inspiring the next generation of female scientists.

Athena SWAN

The Athena SWAN charter recognises advancements in gender equality, from representation to career progression to success for all individuals. We are working together, across the School, to ensure we have a fair and stimulating working environment that will benefit both men and women.

Soapbox Science

Soapbox Science is a novel public outreach platform for promoting women scientists and the science they do. The events transform public areas into an arena for public learning and scientific debate; they follow the format of London Hyde Park’s Speaker’s Corner, which is historically an arena for public debate.
