Congratulations to Dr William Guast, the IGRCT’s former A. G. Leventis postdoctoral research fellow, who has just published a new book!

Greek Declamation and the Roman Empire, published in June 2023 with Cambridge University Press, is the ‘first monograph on Greek declamation for nearly forty years’. In it, Dr Guast takes a fresh look at the genre, to understand its significance for identity formation, social interaction, imperialism, and inter-polis relations under the high Roman empire.

Dr Guast currently teaches Classics at Winchester College.
