I had an incredible time at the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Conference in the Gold Coast. Alongside showcasing my academic poster, I was asked to deliver a 20-minute oral presentation on my research investigating pubertal timing and depression in boys. The 3-day conference was filled with inspiring talks sharing lived experiences, research knowledge and professional expertise. Some of my personal highlights were talks from: Living Works, global leaders in Suicide Prevention Training; research on improving the 'grief-literacy' of communities when supporting young people through grief and loss; and the reoccurring theme of youth involvement in research and practice through effective implementation of youth advisory groups.
