'Interdisciplinary workshop for road danger reduction'

The Nepal Injury Research Centre, a research partnership between Kathmandu Medical College and a team here at CACH, celebrated completion of our first ever 'Interdisciplinary workshop for road danger reduction'.  The workshop, which took place between 31st May and 3rd June,  brought together 24 transport engineering and community medicine postgraduates in Nepal to focus on systems thinking and collaborative innovation to reduce harm from injuries on Nepal's roads. The event was initially planned as a one-day workshop to be held at Kathmandu Medical College, but was transformed to be delivered in lockdown.  Participants joined from their homes for 1.5 hour interactive online sessions over four days, culminating in an international expert panel Q&A.  Catering and transport budgets were repurposed to support participant access, and the new format allowed electronic feedback - and refinement of plans - each day.  Some of the team were stepping into a teaching design and delivery role for the first time - and doing so in a multi-day interactive online event.  The workshop's success is a huge testament to their hard work and mutual support.
