The University Relay Series involves fun weekends away and provides some of the best nights out of the year! Whether it's the curry mile in Manchester or the clubs in Leeds, these are always a great time. More info can be found here. Events take place at Hyde park, London, Oxford, Nottingham and Manchester

Bristol 10k

The club has had an impressive contingent at the last few Bristol 10k races which take place in mid-May, the race often incorporates a University Team Race.

Gwent League

This is our main series of races, suitable for everyone from beginners to international athletes.

South West League

This is a great series which we were second in last year , it incorporates a home fixture on the Downs!

Sodbury Slog

The Sodbury Slog is held every year by Bitton Road Runners in the village of Chipping Sodbury near Yate, just outside of Bristol. "It's a lung-busting, trainer-ruining, hill-climbing, multi-terrain challenge held over and through some of South Gloucestershire's most stunning countryside." Just check out the pictures and videos , and take a look at the course elevation below (taken from Bitton Road Runners):

Sodbury Slog Course Elevation

"The route is varied. Starting from Chipping Sodbury School, running up the wide High Street and onto Sodbury Common; here's where the mud starts, the common is very marshy even in summer, and becomes very wet and boggy in November making the going especially tough. Strategically placed bales of hay provide ideal obstacles where gates would normally grace your passage (leaving them open would just be too easy).
The first climb then takes you onto the Cotswold Way, over the Roman encampment at Old Sodbury, then down through the woods into the grounds of Little Sodbury Manor, running past the Manor House and out running along the tree lined drive all add to the spectacular scenery of the run and making it unique.
After several watery excursions and through Horton village you find yourself back on Sodbury Common wading through the River Frome. A short road run takes you back to the school in a distance of 9½ country miles.
The race is wet, muddy, scenic and as hard as you want it to be, and is a race for all abilities and all standards. The course is fully marshaled. Secure baggage holding, changing and shower facilities are available, with added bonus of actually getting hot water if you get back soon enough."

Weston Prom Run

The Weston Prom run is a series of races organised by Weston AC from September through to May, and quite often the club or individuals from the club will take part in it. It is held on Thursday evenings (so there is no excuse not to come!) and is held on the pavement along the seafront.
Basically, the runners head off along the coastline up to the far end of the beach, turn around and come back again. It may not sound great, but it has a lovely atmosphere and the view across to the sea is lovely.

Bridge Inn 5km

This is a great local race which takes place once a month on a Tuesday night, so it can be a great way to track your progress throughout the year. The course is an out-and-backon traffic-free footpaths. It is well marshalled with both lead bike and  mop up runner to accompany person at rear of field.
