Parents and carers
Starting university is an exciting time for any new student. At Bristol we value the vital role parents, relatives and carers play at all stages in this process.
If you’ve recently attended a University of Bristol event with your son or daughter or you know that they’re already receiving further information from us via email, you can also sign up to our parents and guardians mailing list to receive useful information about our courses, funding, wellbeing and more. Higher Education decisions
While ultimately the decisions made must be your son/daughter's, as a parent or carer, you can offer invaluable support and make the journey to higher education much easier.
Accommodation, safety and support
Further information is available on a range of concerns that you may have – from accommodation, safety and sources of support at the University.
Preparing to leave home
There can be a lot for your son/daughter to remember to do between receiving exam results and arriving at University.
During the first few weeks of term, a range of events are held to help your son/daughter settle into University life quickly.
Students who are parents and carers
We also provide information for students who are themselves parents or carers. Further information is also available for mature students.
Applications to courses at the University of Bristol must be made through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Services (UCAS).
We take the health and safety of our students seriously and are continuing to monitor the situation carefully.
