Spenser's story

Spenser, a Civil Engineering student, shares their experience of applying to the University of Bristol.

Why did you choose Bristol?

I did not consider Bristol until I was about three months away from submitting my application to UCAS. I already had a place at Durham University, however, I did more research into the course and found that Bristol offered lots of unique opportunities. Moreover, it was a really lovely city with a plethora of activities that would interest different groups of people.

I enjoy the course at my university. The different modules offered gives students the flexibility to tailor their courses to themselves. In this way, students can align their modules to their interests as they go through each year. The city also offers a really friendly and relaxed environment.

Advice whilst applying to university

My suggestion would be to do your research and definitely understand what sort of environment you are looking for, especially if it suits you. I made a list and reflected on it before narrowing down my choices and Bristol was at the top of my list after all!
