We run a selection of workshops to help you whilst at university.
Am I dyslexic?
If you think you have dyslexia, book onto this workshop to find out about:
- dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties, such as dyspraxia
- how dyslexia can affect your studies
- how to get an assessment for dyslexia
- how to check if you could get funding to pay for an assessment
- the benefits of having dyslexia identified
- the study support available for students with dyslexia

If you think you have dyslexia but don’t yet have a formal diagnosis, please book this workshop to find out about:
- dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties, such as dyspraxia
- how dyslexia can affect your studies
- how to get an assessment for dyslexia
- how to check if you could get funding to pay for an assessment once registered on your course
- the benefits of having dyslexia identified
- the available study support for students with dyslexia.

Applying for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA)
If you have a disability or medical condition, then you may be eligible to apply for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA). This workshop will provide you with an understanding of what the DSA is, how to apply, and what support you might receive through it.

Applying for Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA): workshop for new applicants
We strongly advise that you apply for the Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA) before arriving at the University. This will give you the best chance of having support in place when teaching starts.
This workshop will provide the following:
- Advice on how to apply for DSA.
- Advice on medical evidence requirements.
- Information about the types of support you might receive through DSA.
- Advice on how to access your support once it's in place.

Careers Service
Careers Service online workshops are tailored for disabled and neurodivergent students. If you are a current student or graduated from the University within the last 3 years, you are welcome to join.

Disabled and neurodivergent students and recent graduates can access a range of careers support resources, including:

- one-to-one guidance appointments tailored to your needs.

Group study skills
These weekly online sessions are facilitated by a qualified Study Skills Tutor who will help you to:
- improve your existing academic skills
- refine your notetaking
- help with structuring your writing assignments
- boost your revision technique.
These sessions may be helpful to you if you have, or think you may have
- dyslexia
- ADHD
- autism
- mental health conditions
- or other conditions.
