School of Mathematics PhD student Harry Petyt has been awarded the 2022 Doctoral Prize for Mathematical or Environmental Sciences for his thesis. His thesis was on the topic of geometric properties of mapping class groups, which are algebraic objects that describe the symmetries of surfaces.
