Professor Achilles Skordas gives talk at prominent Washington DC thinktank, 24 March

Achilles Skordas, Professor of International Law at Bristol Law School, and Visiting Scholar at the Institute for Global Law and Policy, Harvard Law School, will give a talk at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, DC, entitled: 'Greece's Financial Crisis: The Politics of Resolution and Reform' on 24 March 2010.

Achilles Skordas, Professor of International Law at Bristol Law School, and Visiting Scholar at the Institute for Global Law and Policy, Harvard Law School, will give a talk at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, DC, entitled: 'Greece's Financial Crisis: The Politics of Resolution and Reform'. Prof. Skordas will discuss the causes of the most severe economic and social crisis Greece has faced in the last half century, the current politics of crisis management, and the possibilities of success of a structural reform of state and economy.

Achilles Skordas joined the University of Bristol as Reader in Law in 2006 and was appointed Professor of International Law in 2008. He has been a Visiting Professor at the University of Paris XII; a Visiting Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg; and a CLPE Fellow at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, in Toronto.  He is the Greek member of the Odysseus Academic Network for Legal Studies on Asylum and Immigration in Europe, and has previously been an advisor to the Greek Parliament on international legal issues.

The talk with take place on 24 March 2010, 2:00 pm - 3.30 pm, at the 6th floor of the Woodrow Wilson Center.
