Pre-existing medical condition/pregnancy

I have a pre-existing medical condition/am pregnant.  Can I travel and if so, is my medical condition excluded?

  • You must not travel against the advice of a qualified Medical Practitioner.  The University may ask you to obtain confirmation from your Medical Practitioner to confirm that you are fit to travel and undertake the business activity. Any charges imposed by a Medical Practitioner are not recoverable from the University.
  • There are no exclusions relating to pre-existing medical conditions (except Long Term Secondees), however, you will not be insured if you are travelling abroad to obtain medical treatment.
  • Pregnancy or childbirth expenses are included but only if necessitated by:

i) bodily injury following an Accident or

ii) incurred for pregnancy related illness or complications requiring emergency treatment
