Staff or Students Working Overseas

If working overseas for more than 30 days you will need to speak to International Mobility - international-mobility@bristol.ac.uk

The Global Travel Approval process must be followed and University Travel Insurance must be arranged prior to departure. See Travel Insurance.

Motor insurance may need to be arranged – See the Motor section.

Transit insurance may need to be arranged - See the Property section.

Long term secondees – Travel cover:

i) A long term secondee is a traveller whose Journey is scheduled to last for more than 12 months at its commencement.  If the traveller returns home or undertakes travel away from the country of their original destination, this is still regarded as a long-term secondment.

ii) The following exclusion applies to the University travel insurance:  Any condition from which the traveller is known to be suffering and/or for which they have received professional treatment or consultation during the 24 months preceding the incident.  Other exclusions apply.  Please consult the insurance policy and schedule of cover for full details.
