Who can take part in this study?

The SINEPOST study is linked with two national Public Health surveillance studies that are conducted through the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit at the University of Oxford: the UK Obstetric Surveillance System-COVID-19 in pregnancy (UKOSS) study1 and the British Paediatric Surveillance Unit- Neonatal Complications of Coronavirus Disease (BPSU) study2.

Three cohorts of potential participants will be invited to take part in the SINEPOST study:

  1. Mothers of infants who had SARS-CoV-2infection within 28 days after birth (neonatal exposure cohort)
  2. Mothers who had SARS-CoV-2infection during pregnancy (antenatal exposure cohort)
  3. Mothers who did not have SARS-CoV-2infection during pregnancy and their infants did not have SARS-CoV-2infection in the first 28 days after birth (comparison cohort)
