Research groups

The Institute of Clinical Neurosciences (ICN) incorporates many diverse and successful research groups encompassing a remarkable range of research activity, most significantly in neonatal neurology, multiple sclerosis and dementia. Clinical and experimental neuropathology represent a vital core running through these activities and all our research is underpinned by two clear neurological themes:

  • preventing damage
  • promoting regeneration

We have a substantial and growing team of basic and clinical neuroscientists, and senior clinicians with extensive experience in running clinical trials, working across a number of inter-related and interdependent disciplines. Our wide range of research expertise means we are well-placed to translate bench science into clinical studies with real benefits for patients.
