Patient Experience Partnership in Research (PEP-R)
Would you like to get involved?
Why get involved?
We asked My Friday Coffee Morning – Barton Hill why they think it’s important to get involved in research. Some of the things they said were: to get up to date, to adapt to the changing world, and to help to bring different medications and treatments to family, friends, and the community. Read on below for more reasons.
Is research into joints, muscles and bones of interest to you?
Some examples of work we do is in knee replacement, hip replacement, back pain, and osteoarthritis.
Who can get involved?
We like to work with people from different backgrounds because they bring different and diverse ideas. You don’t need any research experience to be involved. Your experience as a patient, carer, family member or friend of someone with bone or joint problems is what counts.
Come and join us!
Would you like to be involved? There’s lots of different ways to get involved to fit with you. Some examples are:
- Online or face-to-face group meetings
- Talking 1:1 with a researcher either online, face-to-face, or via e-mail
- Having a researcher visit a group/organisation that you already attend
- Asking people to come along to research team meetings
It’s your research
