Printing information for students. How to buy print credits and check your balance.
You need to have print credit to use the printers and copiers at the University.
Buy print credit for your account
You need a print account before you can add credit. Your print account may not be created until you have sent a document to print. When it’s created we’ll add £2 to your account.
Refunds cannot be given for unused print credit.
You can add print credit online. You can add credit between £5 and £50 per transaction.
You can pay using either of these services:
Visit the online payment help page for help adding credits.
Checking your print credit balance
You can see your current print credit at the top of the touchscreen, after you sign in and press the ‘print’ button. Your printout costs are shown on the right of the screen.
If you do not have enough credit your documents will not print and you will not be charged.
If a document has not printed you need to check that you have sufficient credit in the first instance.

About printing prices
This charge is for sustainability reasons. This is to reduce the environmental impact of wasting paper and other consumables. Money spent on print credits is spent on maintaining the printing system and other IT services for students.
Buying print credits for groups of students
Staff can order print credits for groups of students. Email the IT Service desk with the subject ‘Purchase of PAS credits’. The minimum amount to purchase is £50.
In the email you need to:
- state the course or module (or other reason) for which the print credits are being purchased
- state the total amount of credit in pound sterling
- provide the charge code (for University internal transfer) to be billed
- attach a spreadsheet with a list of the student University usernames
If you need to allocate different amounts of credit to different groups of users separate these into different requests.
Allow three working days for the credit to be added to your account.
Print credit purchased for students by departments is non-transferable and non-refundable.
