Appealing against your results

If you are appealing against your exam results or getting a re-grade or re-mark, you must let us know your updated grades.

Before you get a re-grade

You don't need to contact us to let us know you are getting a re-grade. You only need to contact us when you get your updated results.

If you submit an appeal to your exam centre or your awarding organisation, you should understand that you have not been placed at your Firm choice institution, and you should ask for your appeal to be treated as a Priority Appeal.

After you get a re-grade

We can only reconsider your application once we have received formal confirmation that your grades have been revised by the awarding organisation (for example, the exam board). We will not accept preliminary notifications or statements from schools or colleges.

Once you have your updated results, send them to us by 11:59 pm (BST) on 31 August 2023.

You can either upload a results transcript or some form of official notification from the exam board.

It is your responsibility to provide us with documentary evidence of your updated results.

Your place

We will consider you to have met the terms of your offer if you meet all of the following conditions:

  • Bristol is your firm choice;
  • Your re-graded results mean that you have met the terms of your offer (if you hold an insurance offer, this means meeting or exceeding your insurance offer and not being placed at your firm choice);
  • You let us know your updated results before 11:59 pm (BST) on 31 August 2023.

If you notify us after that, unfortunately, we may not be able to confirm your place. However, please let us know your re-grade results as soon as you have them, even if it is after this deadline, in case there are vacancies.

Accommodation

If you applied for accommodation before 30 June 2023, your accommodation will still be guaranteed if your appeal is successful and the place you take is on the original course you applied for.
