4 July 2024

We're delighted to welcome Adam Willows to the department! Dr. Willows is a theologian and philosopher specialising in ethics, philosophical theology and interdisciplinary engagement with the sciences. His work focuses on moral character and agency and aims to improve our understanding of ourselves as moral creatures – who we are, what we do and why. Current interests includes the role of emotion in rational agency, and moral challenges posed by the use of social or 'caring' robots in healthcare. He received his PhD from Durham University in 2015 and held postdoctoral positions at the University of Notre Dame and the University of Leeds before joining the University of Winchester as a lecturer in 2018, where he worked until 2023.
