We are delighted to announce that Dr Toby Matthiesen has been elected a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society (RHS) in recognition of his contribution to historical scholarship. The Fellowship was awarded in light of the recent publication of his global history of Sunni-Shii relations, The Caliph and the Imam: The Making of Sunnism and Shiism (Oxford University Press, 2023).
