Dr Zoe Reed and Dr Angela Attwood have been awarded funding from the University of Bristol - Wellcome Trust Institutional Translational Partnership Award (iTPA) for their project ‘Optimising translation of an emotional face processing intervention for autistic children’. During this project they will be running a multi-session online study with children, to optimise the facial emotion recognition component of their intervention. The second part of the study will consist of Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) with teachers, parents and educational psychologists, and ‘Think Aloud’ sessions with teachers and children, to inform development of two new components of the intervention related to contextual understanding and responding to emotions. The findings from this project will be used to finalise their emotional face processing intervention.
