Congratulations to Aoife Maguire who has been funded by the British Psychological Society Undergraduate Research Assistantship Scheme for 2021 for the project: Informing the development of university guidelines to support personal tutors when discussing drug including alcohol use with students: qualitative interviews with students and tutors.

Aoife will be working closely with Olivia Maynard conducting research which will directly inform the development of new University of Bristol guidelines for tutors to support them discussing drug use (including alcohol) with students. This novel study will be the first to investigate the extent to which academic staff are knowledgeable, confident and capable of discussing drug use including harm reduction with students and the extent to which students need and want this support from their tutors.
