Acknowledging the facility

Users must agree to acknowledge the Interface Analysis Centre in publications and presentations that include data acquired on IAC equipment and/or with our support.

All publications including data from use of Interface Analysis Centre instruments or analysed with our support should, at the very least, acknowledge the IAC as a whole, e.g. ‘The authors gratefully acknowledge the Interface Analysis Centre for their support and assistance in this work.'

Where users have had significant help from IAC staff then the relevant staff member(s) should be acknowledged by name, e.g. ‘The authors thank *** of the Interface Analysis Centre for their assistance in this work.'

If IAC staff contribute substantially to experimental design, development of protocols or data interpretation then they should be included as co-authors of resulting papers. In such cases the papers should additionally acknowledge the IAC as a whole as above.

Please also mention the Interface Analysis Centre in presentations (talks and posters) that include data acquired here. The IAC logo can be added to acknowledgement slides to aid this.

In addition, data acquired with equipment funded by specific grants should acknowledge that funding. Details of such equipment funding can be obtained from your IAC staff contact.

Furthermore, if Faculty of Science and Engineering EFF funding has been used to cover IAC access then this will also need to be acknowledged: “Funding was provided by the University of Bristol Science Partnership Office Exploratory Facilities Fund.”

In order for us to publicise papers and use these as evidence of impact, please notify Dr Keith Hallam when relevant papers are published. University of Bristol users should also include the IAC when uploading publication details on Pure.
