Research interests
I am a PhD student in Philosophy at the University of Bristol. In 2019 I was awarded a scholarship by the British Society for the Philosophy of Science (BSPS) to pursue a PhD on ‘The life and death of animals’, a project at the intersection of philosophy of biology and metaphysics. My advisors are Prof. Samir Okasha and Dr Tuomas Tahko. I have a PhD in Biology from the University of Porto (Portugal), and previously worked as a marine biologist.
My research interests are mainly in philosophy of biology (evolutionary biology, species, higher taxa and phylogenetics, natural kinds in biology, and universal biology) and metaphysics (identity, persistence, and modality), and especially in the connections between the two.
