The Times’ influential guide ranked Bristol’s Education and Russian and Eastern European Language courses as 2^nd best in the country and its Dentistry, German, General Engineering and Aerospace Engineering courses as 3^rd best in the country.

The success comes hot on the heels of the recently released Guardian University Guide 2025, which crowned Bristol’s Civil Engineering and Education courses as the best in the UK and its Zoology, Aerospace Engineering and Animal Science courses as 2^nd best in the UK.

Bristol is home to the most advanced earthquake shaking table in Europe and it was recently named the AI University of the Year at the National AI Awards.

The UK’s fastest and most powerful supercomputer – worth £225m – is also located at the University and it has won funding to establish how drones could be used to harvest wind energy.

Professor Michele Acuto, the University’s Pro Vice-Chancellor for Global Engagement, said: “Bristol is a fantastic place to study and work and we are proud to see that recognised in The Times’ latest guide.

“It’s particularly exciting to see so many Bristol subjects placing near the top of their fields, and it’s a testament to our academics and support staff that they are consistently ranked so highly.”

Meanwhile, the Times Guide also found that Bristol’s Mechanical Engineering and French courses were the 5^th best in the UK and its Italian courses were the 6^th in the UK.

The Guide said that the University of Bristol “is more in demand and as ambitious as ever” and that “a degree from Bristol carries weight in the jobs market”. It added that Bristol has been “recognised with the University Mental Health Charter Award, which has so far recognised ten universities”.

The Daily Mail also recently released their University Guide. It said that “Bristol is doing its bit to tear down barriers that have prevented disadvantaged children from attending elite universities” and added that Bristol graduates were the 5^th most sought after by top UK employers.
