Since forming in 2014, the Bristol Suspensions have won the UK final of the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (made famous by the film Pitch Perfect), performed on ITV’s This Morning and BBC One’s Pitch Battle and wowed audiences in nine Edinburgh Fringe runs.
They also toured in the US and have won four CARA Awards – known colloquially as the a cappella Grammys – for their album ‘Red Hot’.
This Saturday [February 3] at 7.30pm, former members return to the University of Bristol for ‘Sus10sions: 10 year anniversary show’. The public is welcome to event in the Anson Rooms, Bristol.
For many, this will be the first time they have performed as a group in five years. In a special moment, more than 60 members will perform some of the Suspensionss greatest hits together.
Alongside the anniversary show, the group are releasing “Suspod”, a 10 episode podcast series interviewing members from each generation.
The Bristol Suspensions co-founder Rafaella Barratt said: “It is just mind-boggling to think how far we have come in these 10 years.
“When we formed the group we could never have imagined what it would go on to achieve or how much it would mean to so many people.
"Suspensions was such a big part of all of our lives at university so it is very special for us to re-unite and relive our ‘pitch perfect’ days.”
Tickets are £15 (£10 concessions) and can be bought here.
