He said: “The University of Bristol is saddened to hear of the death of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Throughout his life, the Duke personified civic duty and his contribution to the nation, over many decades, has been extraordinary. As a mark of respect, we will fly campus flags at half-mast. Our thoughts are with Her Majesty the Queen and the Royal Family at this very sad time.”
Prince Philip visited the University of Bristol on several occasions and our flags are being flown at half mast as a sign of respect in accordance with royal protocol.
