People needed to share their experience of dementia or memory problems

Do you have experience of dementia or memory problems? Researchers from the University of Bristol and North Bristol NHS Trust are looking for patients or carers over the age of 45 to join a memory patient group to help further research into the disease.
The ReMemBr Group (Research into Memory, the Brain and dementia), a Bristol-based research group, jointly led by the University of Bristol and North Bristol NHS Trust, is setting up a memory patient group to help decide how research studies can be best designed for people with memory problems.
The memory patient group will meet for a couple of hours every six months. The first meeting will be on Friday 30 November 2018 at the University of Bristol campus on Tyndall Avenue.
During the first meeting the group will tour the SPHERE (Sensor Platform for HEalthcare in a Residential Environment) house, which has been set up with home sensor technology that can measure different types of behaviour and build a picture of how people live in their home.
The ReMemBr Group, based in Southmead Hospital, is headed by Dr Elizabeth Coulthard, a practicing neurologist who carries out neuroscience and psychology research into memory, the brain and dementia.
Dr Liz Coulthard, Consultant Senior Lecturer in Dementia Neurology at the University of Bristol and neurologist at North Bristol NHS Trust, said: "People who are willing to volunteer for research projects and help us in our quest to beat dementia are the life-blood of our research and are absolutely crucial if we are to keep making progress."

About the ReMemBr Group The ReMemBr Group (Research into Memory, the Brain and dementia) includes neurologists, psychologist and researchers from both the University of Bristol and North Bristol NHS Trust. We diagnose and treat patients with dementia and also offer clinical research opportunities to people with and without dementia. About SPHERE SPHERE (Sensor Platform for HEalthcare in a Residential Environment) is an interdisciplinary research collaboration (IRC) funded by the EPSRC and led by the University of Bristol, together with the universities of Southampton and Reading.
The project, led by Professor Ian Craddock, Head of the Digital Health Engineering Research Group at the University of Bristol, focuses on developing sensor systems to monitor health and wellbeing in the home, and is working in partnership with Bristol City Council, IBM, Toshiba and Knowle West Media Centre (KWMC).
