Bristol ranked ninth in the UK and 51st in the world, new league table reveals

The QS World University Rankings 2019 have been released today [6 June], and put the University of Bristol at ninth in the UK and 51st in the world.

This places Bristol in the top five per cent of universities in the world, according to analysis of 1,011 universities in 85 countries.

The QS rankings are based on the expert opinion of 83,877 academics and 42,862 employers, in addition to the analysis of 13 million papers and 67 million citations to measure the impact of the research produced by the universities ranked.

Bristol performed strongly in both employer and academic reputation, while the number of citations per faculty member increased.

Within the last two weeks, the University of Bristol climbed seven places in the Guardian's University Guide 2019 and was ranked 7th in the UK and 65th in the world according to the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) 2018/19.
