Around 12,000 visitors have booked to attend the Friday event and 18,000 on the Saturday, with both prospective students and their guests seeking a taste of university life and the chance to learn about the wide range of degree courses on offer as well as scholarship and funding opportunities.
The University of Bristol has recently been ranked 7th in the UK in the CWUR rankings and 9th in the UK in the QS league table.
A selection of street food pop ups showcasing some of the city’s culinary offerings will be situated in the scenic Royal Fort Garden.
This year will see even more of Bristol’s restaurants and eateries represented and the University’s much-loved hot air balloon will take centre stage amongst the food stalls.
All undergraduate schools and departments are taking part and will be hosting interactive demonstrations, tours, talks and displays offering future students a real insight into the University experience at Bristol.
General information sessions relating to aspects of university life, such as accommodation, student finance and study and work abroad opportunities complete the picture, along with tailored sessions for parents and carers, teachers, careers advisers and mature students.
Beacon House, the University’s flagship student study centre on Queen’s Road, will house displays from the Faculty of Arts. Staff from Library Services will be at Beacon House to provide information about the study skills support available to all students.
Visitors will be able to view a selection of student residences in the city centre, Clifton and Stoke Bishop, with a free shuttle bus service running between the main University campus and Stoke Bishop throughout the day
The Bristol Veterinary School, based on the Langford Campus, will be open to visitors interested in veterinary nursing and veterinary science courses.
