This year’s competition was Eboni Beckford-Chambers’ third Commonwealth Games and having been frustratingly close with a bronze in 2010, Eboni and her team have now earned a spot in sporting history - with England securing gold for the first time since the games commenced in 1998.
Eboni said: “Wow, I still just can't quite believe it. This is the epitome of hard work, determination, resilience, unwavering belief and a team-first attitude."
No stranger to hard work, Eboni made her international debut for England in 2008 whilst studying as an undergraduate at the University of Bristol Law School and prior to completing an LLM in Commercial Law in 2011.
Since graduating from the University, Eboni has continued to balance her busy sporting and legal careers. She plays goal defence and goal keeper for the England netball team and is currently a trainee solicitor at the Bath based law firm, Mogers Drewett.
